The Story So Far...

Jock Ratties first saw the light of day on Setanta Sports' website at the beginning of the 2007-08 football season. The original brief was to produce topical weekly cartoon strips for use on Setanta's relaunched web presence as they set about significantly raising their profile following their acquisition of the rights to broadcast a tranche of live English Premiership matches on their subscription TV channels.

Jock Ratties cartoon strips are available on a non-exclusive licenced basis to any and all publications, whether online or traditional printed media, for only £100.00 plus VAT per three-frame episode and can be sized and configured to fit the available media space.

If you are interested in running Jock Ratties within your publication please do not hesitate to contact us using the feedback form on our 'Contact' page. Alternatively, read on below for the story so far...

It was raining history by the bucket-full one wet Wednesday evening at the Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow, when the first ever all-English Champions League Final was contested by Manchester United and Chelsea.

With United's subsequent penalty shoot-out victory Sir Alex Ferguson finally surpassed the European Cup record of Sir Matt Busby after so many attempts. The same night Ryan Giggs came off the bench to exceed Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time appearance record for the Red Devils.

The nod to yesteryear was completed by the touching moment when Sir Bobby Charlton himself led the way up the steps to the trophy, representing his team-mates from the Munich air disaster 50 years previously.

We must also spare a thought for Avram Grant who could be forgiven for being a touch emotional himself after such a dramatic conclusion to proceedings...

Contrary to popular belief, Jock is not always anti-authoritarian. Like the "company man" that he is, he soon finds himself "singing from the same hymn sheet" as his master...

Episode 45 - The End of Jock?

Click Here To Zoom In On This Image Not long after Jock was warned by his Chairman, Sir Rufus Chequer-Karn, that money would be tight in the forseeable future, Northern Albion FC were taken over in a surprise swoop by an American sports conglomerate.

The new owners identified Jock as too old-school for their liking and swiftly gave him his marching orders, appointing his former assistant Julian Wright-Jess as their new manager instead.

Sore and confused at this sudden turn of events, and now at a loose end for the first time in many years, Jock resolved to somehow hide himself away from any painful reminder of British football...
